3. Privacy Policy

What this Privacy Policy covers:-

This Privacy Policy covers EEFO's treatment of personally identifiable information that EEFO collects when you are on the EEFO site.

This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that EEFO does not own or control or to people that EEFO does not employ or manage.

Why we may collect your data.

You may at times be asked to supply personal information via the EEFO website. Personal information is anything which enables us to identify you in some way, such as your name and an email address. If you supply such information, we are legally bound by the Data Protection Act 1998 to ensure that such information is only used for the purpose for which it was requested and also to ensure that the data is held securely.

When using the website Advice section, all of the information that you email to EEFO will arrive and will be given a unique identity number. The professional who answers the question will only see this number.

If you reveal your full name and address and you tell EEFO of special circumstances (e.g. if you are in danger or are putting others in danger) we would need to inform other people. This would not be done without EEFO sending you an email first.

We may collect and record information in order for us to understand more about how our site is used and in turn to make sure that the site reflects your needs. In order to do this we may send cookies to your PC. A cookie will contain information that allows us to recognise that you have used the site before, but will not contain any other personal data. You can disable this function within your browser without affecting your navigation around the site.

If you make a request for further information via the EEFO website, the data will only be retained on the Web Servers as long as necessary in order to respond to your query.

Use of the Information

EEFO uses information for two purposes

  • To ensure that young people using the site have a valid point of contact to prevent bogus memberships.
  • To allow EEFO to email information on your behalf in relation to requests for advice made to the site.

Who we share information with:-

EEFO will not sell or rent mailing details to any third party. We will however send personally identifiable information to third parties in the following circumstances:-

  • We have your consent to share the information.
  • We find that your actions on the EEFO site violate the Terms and Conditions of the Site.

We will share aggregated statistics about our users and traffic patterns with our potential sponsors and advertisers.

Amendments

EEFO may amend this policy from time to time. If we make substantial changes in the way we use your personal information we will notify you by posting a prominent announcement on our pages.

4. "Rules of the Road."

For the benefit of the entire EEFO community we have a few guidelines that we call "Rules of the Road." We hope you will find them reasonable. Please understand, though, that any conduct that violates the Rules of the Road is grounds for suspension of your membership. For this reason, we ask that you carefully read and follow them.

  • Provide Accurate Information. You agree to provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as requested in the membership registration form.
  • Guard Your Password. You will receive a password and account name once you've completed the registration process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account. And you are fully responsible for all activities that occur using your password or account. Please notify EEFO immediately of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security.
  • Obey the Law. You agree not to use the service for illegal purposes or for the transmission of material that is unlawful, harassing, libelous (untrue and damaging to others), invasive of another's privacy, abusive, threatening, or obscene, or that infringes the copyrights (rights of an owner of written material) or other intellectual property of others.
  • Site Ethos. First and foremost the EEFO website is a community for young people with its own ethos. Subscribing to the site signals your acceptance of the site ethos and all guiding principles. You must:-
    • deal respectfully and thoughtfully with each other
    • avoid judgmental, offensive or insensitive language
    • listen to each other with care and attention
    • not attempt to exclude or deliberately mislead others
    • take responsibility for checking out anything you do not understand or are unclear about

Abuse of these principles will lead to permanent suspension of the membership of the individual(s) involved.
