Information line available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.  An answer phone is provided at all other times.

Formerly Cornwall’s Children’s Information Service, we are still the ONLY source of information for all Ofsted registered childcare.

We can help with the following queries:
• Where can my children go while I am at work?
• What funding is available to help?
• How do I know that my child is safe?
• What should I ask when choosing childcare?

We are the main signposting and information service for the whole of Cornwall, and have developed an online Service Directory.

You can visit the directory or contact us for information regarding any family related enquiry.

We can help with:
• What can we do as a family?
• What support is there for me to build a career?
• Who can help with special needs?
• Who gives advice on parenting?

Types of activities the Family Information Service can help with :
• Childcare: e.g. Childminders, Crèches, Day Nurseries, Holiday Schemes, Out-of-School Clubs, Pre-school Playgroups, Extended Schools, Children’s Centres, Early Years Education and Nursery Education Grant Funding.
• Family Support
• Support teenage pregnancy
• Support teenage parents with information, advice & assistance

We can provide:
• Continuous support for families with children 0-19
• Confidential impartial information?
• Support to assess the situation and offer possible solutions or “next steps”

We will:
• Take you seriously and treat you with respect
• Make sure that your enquiry is dealt with promptly and satisfactory
• Monitor our service to make sure we are doing the best that we can to meet your needs
