Your Pharmacy Team – All our team members undergo specialised training to ensure they can support the pharmacist in providing you with the most appropriate information and service for your needs. Team members may be required to ask you some questions in order to give you the most appropriate advice or products. Our team members can provide services that meet the needs of customers with disabilities.

Your Privacy – You may wish to discuss issues of a personal or confidential nature with our pharmacist. Many of our pharmacies have consultation rooms or areas where you can have conversation without being overheard. Please ask if you wish to talk in private, as all Boots Pharmacy team members recognise the need for confidentiality and will respect that when you seek advice. Our policies meet the NHS Code of Practice on confidentiality.

Share Your Thoughts – Our feedback procedure meets the NHS standard for dealing with customer issues. Please see our ‘Share your thoughts’ leaflet.

Dispensing – We dispense NHS and private prescriptions. We provide information and advice to ensure safe and effective use of your medicines. We offer convenient ways to have your regular medicines ready at a time suitable for you, please ask for details.

Our aim is to provide you with a fast and efficient dispensing service, we keep an up-to-date record of your medicines on our computer in accordance with the Data Protection Act. This allows us to give you appropriate advice promptly.

Advice - The pharmacist and trained team members are available to give advice on medicines and minor conditions. We provide information and advice on lifestyle choices such as how to stop smoking and healthy diet options. If we are unable to support you with your required information, we can refer you to many local and national resources.

Medicines Check-Up – Our pharmacist is available to sit down with you to discuss your medicines and listen to any concerns or issues you have in taking them. This will give you an opportunity to learn more about your medicines and why you need to take them.

 

This pharmacy is part of a pilot scheme to provide free emergency contraception to all young people aged 21 years and under:

You can ask to speak to the pharmacist privately. They will ask you a few questions to make sure emergency contraception is right for you.

This service is FREE, CONFIDENTIAL and available to all young people aged 21 YEARS OR UNDER including those UNDER 16.

Remember:

- You can take emergency contraception up to 72 hours (3 days) after having unprotected sex.

- The sooner you take emergency contraception the more effective it is.

- You can get free, confidential advice about contraception whatever your age. The pharmacist will advise you about local services.

This scheme is ongoing and is part of Cornwall’s Teenage Pregnancy Strategy:
