Newquay MIND, the Mental Health Charity, is a local association affiliated to
MIND (National Association for Mental Health) which works to support people in
the community who suffer the effects of mental and emotional distress.
We have a resource centre in the middle of town, run by staff and trained volunteers,
where we offer a wide range of therapeutic activities, trips and outings, an
afternoon ’open access’ facility, access to information and support about other
appropriate services in the area. We also have an information help line, one
to one confidential assistance, a free counselling service and finally the offer
of friendship and support. We are open five days a week.
We operate an ’Open Door’ policy which means that anyone can self refer or
just drop in to see us during our ’Open Access’ sessions.
Referrals are also accepted via the statutory sector and other organisations
in the area.
Newquay MIND primarily offers a service to people over the age of 16.

contact the Centre for further information.
We also have BAC Trained Counsellors. This service is free please ring Newquay
MIND for details of referral.
