THE VOTING LINES ARE NOW OPEN......well voting forums!
On May the 2nd all MYPS are having a debate in the House of Lords - a first for Young People!!! But we need to choose the topics and our national campaigns!!
If you want the South West Campaign of ’To ensure fair and accurate representation of young people in the media’ to become a National Campaign, or at least to be debated in the Lords, then you need to start voting on the forums!
We are already debating Sex and Relationship Education, Transport and Voting@16. (other topics include: no uni fees, funding for youth clubs and councils, fair trade & trade justice, Lesbian/gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Transsexual issues in school curriculum, every school reducing carbon emissions and energy use, single age of becoming an adult, non means tested EMA, school leaving age @ 16, street safety.)
If you haven’t signed up to the forums then it’s quick and simple. Just follow the link below. And then you can add to the campaign debates and cast your vote. The young people in your area also need to vote, so publicise the forums in your schools and youth clubs.
The voting poll close on 7th April - THERE IS ONLY ONE WEEK!!!! As it stands our campaign is in joint third place, so has a chance of being debated in the Lords, but we need to keep it there - anything can change!
