There has been a lot of research, both locally and nationally, that has looked into the barriers to young people accessing services. Based on this research the Designated Services for Young people (DSYP) was set up to address the barriers young people face. The EEFO Programme came out of this work and has now superceeded the DSYP programme. The EEFO Quality Standards aim to break down barriers and to give young people the confidence they require to access mainstream services.
