Exam Advice (eefo.net user)

Exams!! Who needs’em?

Exams are bugging a lot of people these days. The stress and the worry is bringing people down and causing health problems.

Believe it or not, even what you eat can affect how well you do in revision and the exams.

During the exam period, teenagers especially, don’t realise how much they can damage their health worrying and stressing over putting pen to paper! Stress, even before an exam can stop people from eating properly.

The right amount of sleep and a proper meal before an exam are important for confidence and getting the brain into gear.

Revision, although most teenagers hate doing it, must be done other wise the options for the future could be slim. Some people load too much information into their heads at one time and start to feel worried and confused. This is because revision should be done in sections and not to be attempted all at once.

Another matter is that a considerable amount of sleep is important before an exam. You don’t want to turn up to the exam feeling tired, teasy and not ready for the day’s work. Lack of sleep can bring the concentration RIGHT DOWN!

For your best results in preparing for an exam:

" If your exam is in the morning, (we all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day) a healthy but filling breakfast should ’wake you up!’
" At least eight hours of sleep a night should do the trick. EARLY NIGHTS ARE THE BEST!!
" Breakdown the revision - two subjects a night for one hour each is ample.
" Don’t listen to the ’exam horror’ rumours!
" Bananas are brain food! A banana a day keeps the bad thoughts away!

Good luck...
