A vegan diet is unhealthy and unnatural
By the time you next eat at McDonalds or Burger king you will have forgotten everything written on this page. The human mind is very good at blocking out anything and everything it does not wish to know.
The aim of this article is not to turn you all into vegans, just to tell you the truth. You may not like the idea of eating bean burgers and lentil soup all day, but how much do you like the idea of heart disease and breast cancer. Not only does a vegan diet contribute to less than 10% the amount of environmental damage of a meat eating one; it has also been proven to be much healthier.
Research using human ’guinea pigs’ has shown the health benefits of veganism. The diet is both low in fat, especially saturated fat, high in fibre, complex carbohydrates and vitamins A and C, low in salt and cholesterol free.
Vegans are also less likely to be at risk of:
| • | High blood pressure |
| • | Heart disease |
| • | Gallstones |
| • | Diverticular disease |
| • | Haemorrhoids |
| • | Diabetes |
| • | Kidney stones |
| • | Cancer of breast and colon |
"…the consumption of meat, milk and other dairy products has also been promoted with the incorrect message that such foods are healthy."
