EEFO has tested the new e-baby from Barnardos.
Below is the link to the Barnardos website where you can download your own e-baby onto your computer desktop.

The e-baby is like a cyber pet. You have to look after it, feed it and play with it to keep it happy. If you do not keep it happy then the baby’s mood indicator will flash up and you will have to do one of the following: make it talk, burp, tickle it, play with its nose, let it play with its duck, take away the matches/iron that it is trying to play with. If you do not do any of these things, the e-baby will get very mad and start to scribble on your desktop.
There is also an e-baby crèche. You can use this option if you are very busy and can not give your e-baby the full attention that it needs. The crèche will take your e-baby for you until you are not so busy and can give it the attention that it needs. You can also nominate a friend that you are working with/playing with to look after your e-baby while you get on with other things.
EEFO thinks that Barnardos developed the e-baby game to show that having/looking after a baby is fun but that it is also hard work, as it needs your full attention all the time.
