Age: Under 16 years old
Comments: Young people under 16 years can be allowed onto a premise with a licence for the supply of alcohol only if they are accompanied by an adult aged over 18 years, but it will be an offence to supply alcohol to them.

Comments: It is an offence for any person to supply or sell alcohol to a young person under 18 years. It is also an offence for under-18s to buy, attempt to buy or to consume alcohol. Police have the power to confiscate alcohol from any young person aged under 18 drinking in public and to notify their parents.
Exceptions:
| • | Young People aged 16 - 17 years old can be allowed onto a premise with a licence for the supply of alcohol and be supplied with alcohol (beer, wine, cider) only if they are accompanied by an adult aged over 18 years and the alcohol is to be consumed at a table meal. |
| • | Where a young person under the age of 18 has been requested by a police officer or trading standards officer to test-purchase alcohol, it will not be an offence. |
